The Model Data > Model Topology > Add Add or Insert Junction function allows graphically the addition of a junction to the existing system model.
Alternatively, click on the
Add Add or Insert Junction toolbar button to access the above function. (Note, in the current HydroSWMM version this function is only available from the toolbar. The next HydroSWMM version will have the menu option also included).
You will be prompted to specify a vertex representing the position of the junction. Click on that location (Albion snap modes can be used to accurately snap to the location). This will add a junction to the model.
If you add a junction on an existing link, then the link is split at that location (and the topology is updated as well). You can also add a junction where two links cross. This can be established by activating the Intersection snap mode, see Albion 6 CAD User Guide. This will ensure the junction is placed at the exact crossing point, and will hereby split the two links into four links.
For standard pipe (i.e. conduit) capturing, the Add Pipe function is the recommended function to apply, since it also automatically adds junctions to the model (when a pipe is added).
